Palestinian Civil Defence teams have recovered the remains of 101 people from collapsed homes in the Al-Taj residential block in Gaza City’s Al-Yarmouk neighbourhood. Five sets of remains were found on Wednesday, bringing the recovery total to 101.

Seventeen-day search operation concludes

The Civil Defence said teams had completed searches across the targeted area and ended the recovery operation. The work lasted 17 days and was carried out with support from an Egyptian relief committee operating in Gaza.

Funeral ceremonies are planned for those whose remains were recovered. The date is expected to be announced in the coming days.

Search teams continue to face widespread destruction

Large parts of Gaza City and other areas across the Strip have suffered extensive damage. Recovery crews continue to search collapsed buildings for people reported missing beneath the rubble, amid the destruction and displacement caused by the war.
