UpScrolled, a rapidly growing social media platform that positions itself as an uncensored alternative to mainstream apps, was temporarily removed from the Google Play Store in mid-February 2026, according to company confirmation and third-party app listings.
The Australian-founded app, launched in June 2025 by entrepreneur Issam Hijazi, gained traction earlier this year as users sought alternatives following changes to TikTok’s ownership and algorithm. By early February 2026, the platform had amassed more than 2.5 million users globally and reached top rankings on Apple’s App Store.
In a post on its official X account, UpScrolled said its Android listing was “paused” around February 14, 2026, and that it was working with Google to resolve the issue, without specifying a detailed reason.
Industry indexes and app directories confirmed the Play Store listing was unavailable, a status experts say is consistent with a delisting, though Google has not publicly explained the action. Reports have noted content moderation challenges on the platform as a broader context for the situation. As of mid-February 2026, UpScrolled remains accessible on Apple’s App Store and continues to operate for existing Android users.
