Russia’s military campaign in Ukraine is showing signs of slowing as losses continue to mount and Ukrainian long-range attacks place increasing pressure on Moscow’s war effort.
Ukraine’s military intelligence claimed Russia has suffered more than 83,000 troop losses since the beginning of the year, with heavy fighting continuing across eastern frontlines. Ukrainian officials say Russian advances have slowed compared with previous months despite repeated assaults in Donetsk and nearby regions.
At the same time, Ukraine has expanded drone and missile strikes deep inside Russian territory, targeting oil depots, energy facilities and military infrastructure. The attacks are aimed at disrupting supply chains and weakening Russia’s ability to sustain operations near the front.
Russia has continued launching large-scale missile and drone attacks on Ukrainian cities, while both sides increasingly rely on long-range warfare and drone technology as the conflict evolves. Military analysts say the fighting has entered a more difficult phase for both armies, with gains becoming smaller and casualties remaining high as the war stretches into another year.
