Turkey, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia Sign Mecca Joint Defence Agreement

Turkey, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have signed a new defence pact aimed at strengthening cooperation between the three countries amid growing regional security tensions.

The agreement, described as the “Mecca Joint Defence Agreement,” was signed on Friday, according to Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry and Saudi broadcasters.

The pact comes as the region faces heightened tensions involving Iran and renewed conflict with the Houthis in Yemen, including security concerns along Saudi Arabia’s southern border.

The agreement brings the three countries closer together on defence and regional security issues at a time of significant geopolitical uncertainty.

However, Ankara stressed that the agreement is purely defensive and is not directed against any particular country or actor.

The pact could mark a significant step in expanding security coordination between Türkiye, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia as they respond to changing threats and instability across the Middle East.
