Turkish intelligence dismantled an Israeli-linked spy cell plotting to embed explosives in communication devices for Hezbollah, replicating the deadly September 2024 pager attacks in Lebanon that killed nearly 40 and injured thousands. The cell targeted supply chains through Turkish ports to reach Lebanon-based militants.

MIT arrested key operatives after intercepting suspicious shipments and tracing communications to Israeli handlers. The scheme involved tampering with pagers and handhelds, but authorities neutralized it before any devices reached targets, averting a repeat catastrophe.

Israel offered no comment, while Hezbollah decried it as proof of ongoing aggression. Turkish officials framed the bust as routine counterterrorism, underscoring Ankara's role in regional security amid Israel-Lebanon hostilities. The operation exposed vulnerabilities in global tech supply chains exploited for hybrid warfare.
