A fund Linked to Donald Trump’s “Board of Peace” initiative for Gaza reconstruction is reportedly empty, despite earlier announcements of international pledges.

the so-called Board of Peace was established by Trump following a US-brokered ceasefire in October 2025 aimed at ending the war in Gaza. Reports also note that UN human rights experts and some international figures have described the situation in Gaza as amounting to genocide, while this characterisation remains disputed by other parties. It further states that more than 72,800 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza since the start of the conflict, according to figures cited in reporting. Amid ongoing accusations of ceasefire violations by Israel.

The Board of Peace was established as part of a broader plan to oversee post-conflict reconstruction and governance arrangements in Gaza. It was presented as an international framework involving multiple countries and financial commitments aimed at rebuilding infrastructure and stabilising the territory.

However, reports indicate that no money has been deposited into the main reconstruction fund, raising questions over how pledged contributions are being managed and whether the initiative is functioning as intended. The situation has added to uncertainty surrounding the project’s progress and funding structure.

The plan has faced scrutiny from analysts and observers since its announcement, particularly regarding transparency, governance, and the feasibility of coordinating large-scale reconstruction efforts in Gaza under its framework.

As the humanitarian situation in Gaza remains critical, questions continue over whether promised financial support will materialise and how any reconstruction efforts will be implemented on the ground.
