Thousands of people have taken part in protests across several Syrian cities against Israel’s new law allowing the death penalty for Palestinian prisoners.

Demonstrations were reported in multiple locations, including Damascus, Aleppo, Homs, Daraa, idlib and Latakia, with crowds waving Palestinian flags and chanting slogans in support of detainees. In the capital, gatherings took place in areas such as Yarmouk and Tadamon, where large numbers of protesters assembled.

The rallies were triggered by anger over the Israeli legislation, which has drawn criticism across the region. Protesters called for the law to be repealed and expressed solidarity with Palestinians held in Israeli prisons.

The demonstrations reflect broader regional tensions linked to the ongoing conflict and political developments surrounding Gaza and Palestinian territories. While largely peaceful, the protests highlight rising public sentiment across Syria on the issue.
