Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa Outlines Security Plans With Israel and Lebanon

Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa said Damascus is working toward a security agreement with Israel while seeking to avoid further regional escalation.

In an interview with Al Jazeera, al-Sharaa said Syria’s approach focuses on diplomatic solutions and improving security arrangements with neighboring countries. He also ruled out direct military intervention in Lebanon, saying Syria would instead support efforts to help Lebanon overcome its ongoing political and economic crisis.

The comments reflect Syria’s efforts to redefine its regional role through diplomacy and cooperation rather than military involvement.
