Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez has sharply criticized Israel’s military actions in the Middle East, describing them as “intolerable” and accusing Israel of showing disregard for civilian lives and international law.

Speaking amid escalating violence in Gaza and Lebanon, Sánchez called on the European Union to suspend its cooperation agreement with Israel, arguing that current actions violate fundamental humanitarian principles. He also urged that Lebanon be included in broader ceasefire efforts as regional tensions intensify.

Spain has emerged as one of the most vocal critics of Israel within the EU in recent days. The remarks come as civilian casualties continue to rise following heavy airstrikes in Lebanon and ongoing operations in Gaza.

Israel has not formally responded to these specific comments, but diplomatic tensions between Madrid and Tel Aviv have been rising, highlighting divisions within Europe over the conflict.
