Saudi Arabia has pledged an additional $3 billion in financial support to Pakistan, Pakistani officials said, as the country continues to grapple with economic challenges.

The support package is expected to help stabilize Pakistan’s foreign reserves and ease pressure on its currency, which has faced volatility in recent months. Officials said the funds would be provided through deposits and other financial mechanisms agreed between the two countries.

Pakistan has relied heavily on financial assistance from allies, including Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, as it works to meet conditions set by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) under its ongoing bailout program.

Saudi Arabia has repeatedly stepped in to support Pakistan’s economy, reflecting close political and economic ties between the two countries. Analysts say the latest pledge could provide short-term relief but warn that Pakistan still faces deep structural economic challenges, including high inflation and fiscal deficits.
