A Russian missile and drone attack on Ukraine’s Kyiv region has killed at least four civilians and injured 15 others, Ukrainian authorities said.
Regional officials reported that several residential buildings and civilian infrastructure were damaged during the strike. Emergency crews were sent to multiple locations overnight to extinguish fires and search through debris for survivors.
Local officials said the attack involved a combination of missiles and drones, which have frequently been used in Russian strikes targeting cities across Ukraine. Several homes were destroyed or heavily damaged, leaving residents displaced.
Among those injured were people who had been inside residential buildings when the explosions occurred. Medical teams transported the wounded to nearby hospitals for treatment.
Russia has continued to carry out aerial attacks across Ukraine since the full-scale invasion began in 2022. Ukrainian air defense systems regularly attempt to intercept incoming drones and missiles, but some still reach their targets.
Authorities are continuing to assess the full extent of the damage while emergency responders work at the scene.
