At least 14 people, including children, have been killed in an attack in Sudan’s South Kordofan region, according to reports, as violence continues amid the country’s ongoing conflict.
The assault was attributed to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), one of the main factions involved in Sudan’s civil war, which has caused widespread devastation since fighting erupted in 2023.
Local sources and rights groups said civilians were among the victims, highlighting the growing toll of the conflict on non-combatants. The attack is part of a broader pattern of violence affecting multiple regions across Sudan.
The conflict between the RSF and the Sudanese army has displaced millions of people and triggered a severe humanitarian crisis, with shortages of food, healthcare and basic services reported across the country.
International organisations have repeatedly called for a ceasefire and greater protection for civilians, warning that continued violence risks worsening an already critical situation.
