At least two children were killed after a strike reportedly carried out by Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces (RSF) hit a Quran school in a conflict-affected region of Sudan, according to local sources and humanitarian monitors. The incident occurred amid ongoing fighting between the RSF and the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF), which has devastated large parts of the country since war erupted in April 2023.

Witnesses said the strike damaged the school building and surrounding residential areas. Several others were reportedly injured, though casualty figures remain subject to confirmation. The RSF has not publicly acknowledged responsibility for the specific incident. The conflict has repeatedly drawn international concern over attacks on civilian infrastructure, including schools, hospitals, and religious sites.

The United Nations has warned that Sudan’s war has displaced millions and created one of the world’s largest humanitarian crises, with civilians continuing to bear the brunt of the violence.
