Lebanon May Skip Next Israel Talks Unless Demands Are Met: Report

Lebanon will reportedly refuse to participate in the next round of talks with Israel unless Beirut’s conditions are accepted.

According to L’Orient-Le Jour, citing a source close to the Lebanese delegation’s leadership, the talks are expected to take place in early September, although a specific date has not yet been finalised.

The Lebanese side has reportedly made its participation conditional on Israel agreeing to several demands, including a full ceasefire and an end to destruction and earthworks being carried out by the Israeli army.

“There will be no new negotiations unless Israel accepts Lebanon’s conditions,” the source said.

The reported position could further complicate efforts to maintain dialogue between Beirut and Israel amid continuing tensions along the border.
