Jordan Executes Six Convicts in Terrorism and Drug-Related Cases
Jordan has executed six individuals convicted in separate terrorism and violent criminal cases involving attacks that killed members of the country’s security forces, according to government officials.
Government Communications Minister Mohammad Al-Momani said the executions were carried out at dawn on Sunday after all sentences became final and legal procedures were completed.
Two of those executed were linked to the so-called “Salt Cell” case, which involved the formation of a terrorist group in 2018 that carried out attacks killing officers and soldiers from the Public Security Directorate and the Jordan Armed Forces.
Another individual was convicted in a 2022 terrorism case involving the killing of a senior security officer.
Three others were executed in connection with drug-related cases that turned violent during law enforcement raids in 2014, 2017, and 2018, resulting in the deaths of police officers.
Authorities said the cases involved both terrorism and criminal activity that led to the deaths of security personnel across multiple incidents.
