At least one Palestinian was killed and several others injured in renewed Israeli strikes in the Gaza Strip, as military operations and demolitions continued despite an ongoing ceasefire.
A drone strike in the Zeitoun neighborhood of Gaza City reportedly killed Mohammad Najib Ashour, who was targeted while riding a bicycle. His body and the wounded were taken to Al-Shifa and Al-Ahli hospitals.
Separately, the bodies of two Palestinians, identified as Bilal Hussein Abu Rabia and Hamza Imad Hamdouna, were recovered in northern Gaza near Beit Lahia after being missing for days.
The Gaza Health Ministry said seven people were killed and nine bodies recovered over the past 48 hours, with 16 others injured. It also stated that the death toll since October 2023 has risen to 73,090, with 173,553 injured.
Israeli artillery also shelled areas west of Beit Lahia, while demolitions continued in eastern Bani Suheila near Khan Younis, causing large explosions but no reported casualties.
Local reports say Israel has expanded control over around 70% of the Gaza Strip, confining most of the population to less than 30%, while repeated strikes continue despite a ceasefire declared in October 2025.
The war, which began in October 2023, has devastated most civilian infrastructure in Gaza and continues to drive widespread casualties and displacement.
