Israeli Settlers Storm Al-Aqsa Mosque Under Police Protection

Dozens of Israeli settlers entered the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied East Jerusalem under heavy protection from Israeli police and security forces.

The settlers reportedly entered the compound in groups and carried out religious rituals, while Israeli forces restricted access for some Palestinians and maintained tight security around the site.

The incident comes amid continuing tensions over Al-Aqsa Mosque, one of Islam’s holiest sites. Palestinian officials and rights groups have repeatedly warned that increased settler incursions and restrictions on Muslim worshippers could further inflame tensions in occupied Jerusalem.

The latest entry has also raised concerns among Palestinians over attempts to change the status quo governing access and worship at the mosque.
