Israeli Forces Enter Syria’s Quneitra, Fire Flares and Trigger Blaze
Israeli forces reportedly carried out a new incursion into Syria’s Quneitra region, with flares fired during the operation sparking a fire in the town of Al-Rafid.
The Quneitra Media Directorate said local civil defence teams extinguished the blaze and attributed it to flares launched by Israeli forces.
Israeli troops have repeatedly entered villages in Quneitra and western Daraa since moving into the UN-monitored buffer zone and seizing Syrian territory in 2024. Military vehicles have conducted raids and detained civilians in the area.
The latest incident follows a July 27 raid in Quneitra province, when Israeli forces reportedly detained a civilian after searching his home.
