At least 41 people have been killed and around 40 others injured after Israeli air strikes hit areas in eastern Lebanon, according to local officials and media reports.

The strikes targeted locations near Nabi Chit in the Bekaa Valley, a region where Hezbollah maintains a strong presence. Lebanese authorities said residential areas were among the sites hit, with emergency crews rushing to rescue survivors and transport the wounded to nearby hospitals.

The attacks come amid a wider escalation between Israel and Hezbollah, which has intensified alongside the broader regional confrontation involving Iran. Cross-border fighting has increased in recent weeks, with missile launches and air strikes reported on both sides of the Israel-Lebanon border.

Local officials warned that the death toll could rise as rescue teams continue to search damaged buildings for survivors. Hospitals in the region have reportedly been placed on emergency footing to handle the influx of casualties. International observers say the growing violence in Lebanon raises fears that the conflict could widen further, pulling additional countries into an already volatile regional crisis.
