A senior Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) commander has warned Iran’s adversaries to expect “strategic surprises,” suggesting Tehran could shift from a defensive posture to a more offensive approach.

Yadollah Javani told Iranian state media that Iran’s enemies should not expect to catch the country off guard. Instead, he warned, they must be prepared for unexpected moves from Tehran.

Javani said Iran would take whatever measures it considers necessary to defend its territory, maintain security and counter perceived threats, adding that such actions would be carried out at the appropriate time.

His comments come amid heightened regional tensions and growing concerns over a wider escalation involving Iran and its adversaries.
