Iranian Media Reports Ship Hit After Allegedly Ignoring Naval Warnings

Iranian media has reported that a ship was struck by a cruise missile after allegedly ignoring warnings from Iranian authorities in the Strait of Hormuz.

According to the semi-official Fars News Agency, the vessel failed to comply with orders to turn back despite repeated warnings. Earlier, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said it had fired warning shots at a ship that had switched off its transponder and attempted to travel through what it described as an illegal route.

The incident comes after Iranian state media announced the closure of the Strait of Hormuz until further notice, further escalating tensions in the strategically important waterway.
