Iran Says It Is Ready for Any US Scenario, Including Escalation
Iran has warned that it is prepared to respond to any course of action by the United States, including confrontation, escalation and sanctions.
Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi said Tehran has options to respond if Iranian interests are targeted. He stressed that Washington should first fulfil its own commitments before expecting Iran to implement any obligations.
According to Iranian media reports, Gharibabadi said Iran could begin carrying out its commitments within a day if the United States takes the first step.
He also revealed that security concerns and preventing threats in the Strait of Hormuz had, for the first time, been included in understandings reached with Oman.
Gharibabadi delivered a direct warning to Washington, saying the United States should understand that any attempt to harm Iranian interests could result in damage to US interests.
His remarks come amid heightened tensions between Tehran and Washington and ongoing diplomatic efforts involving Oman. The comments suggest Iran is keeping both negotiation and confrontation options open while demanding reciprocal action from the United States.
