Iran Says US Strike Targeted Nuclear Power Plant Under Construction
Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization says a US strike targeted the Darkhovin nuclear power plant, which is currently under construction in the country’s southwest.
In a statement, the agency described the site as a peaceful nuclear facility under international safeguards and said attacking it would violate international law. It did not provide details on the extent of any damage.
The claim comes as military exchanges between Iran and the United States continue despite a Pakistan-brokered memorandum of understanding signed in June that aimed to end hostilities and pave the way for a lasting peace agreement.
