Iran Pushes for Lebanon-Wide Ceasefire Amid Rising Regional Tensions

Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf told Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri in a phone call that Tehran is working to secure a ceasefire across all of Lebanon, including the south, as regional tensions continue to rise.

Ghalibaf warned that Iran could suspend negotiations if violence continues, saying that any agreement involving Iran and the United States would require a halt to hostilities on all fronts, particularly in Lebanon. He also said Iran would oppose what he called continued Israeli actions if attacks persist.

Berri responded by expressing appreciation for Iran’s stance during the ongoing crisis.

Meanwhile, Iran’s semi-official Tasnim news agency reported that Tehran has suspended indirect exchanges with the United States through mediators, citing continued Israeli operations in Lebanon and the collapse of ceasefire conditions.

The move comes amid escalating conflict between Israel and Hezbollah, and growing tensions involving Iran, the United States, and Israel over the regional war outlook.
