HRF Challenges Lithuania’s Decision Not to Investigate Israeli Soldier Over Alleged War Crimes

The Hind Rajab Foundation (Hind Rajab Foundation) has filed a complaint with Lithuania’s Constitutional Court, challenging the country’s decision not to investigate an Israeli soldier accused of alleged war crimes in Gaza Strip.

The case concerns Sean Gor, an Israeli national studying dentistry in Lithuania, whom HRF alleges took part in Israeli military operations targeting UNRWA headquarters and the Al-Shifa medical complex during March and April 2024.

HRF also claims Gor served in a unit allegedly linked to operations in Gaza, including an incident in which Hind Rajab, her family, and two paramedics were killed in January 2024.

The foundation argues that Lithuania’s refusal to open a pre-trial investigation amounts to granting impunity for serious international crimes simply because they were committed outside Lithuanian territory.

Lithuanian authorities have not publicly responded in detail to the constitutional challenge.
