Hamas Accuses Israel of Destroying Evidence of Crimes in Gaza

Hamas has accused Israel of attempting to conceal evidence of alleged crimes committed against Palestinians in Gaza during the war.

In a statement issued late Monday, Hamas claimed that removing, crushing and relocating rubble could destroy evidence and potentially affect the recovery of the remains of thousands of missing Palestinians.

The group said the rubble contains human remains and material evidence related to alleged violations, arguing that disturbing these sites could breach international law and undermine efforts to document what happened in Gaza.

Hamas called on the United Nations, international courts and other relevant authorities to urgently protect potential evidence sites. It also urged the deployment of international investigative teams and forensic experts to supervise the recovery and identification of bodies and preserve evidence.

At the same time, Hamas said clearing rubble and rebuilding Gaza remain urgent humanitarian needs and a right of Palestinians.
