Gaza Hospitals Struggle as Fuel Shortage Shuts Down Generators
Several hospitals in Gaza are reportedly facing a critical fuel shortage, with many backup generators no longer functioning. The shortage is threatening essential medical services and putting patients at greater risk.
Hospitals depend heavily on generators because electricity supplies remain severely limited. Fuel is needed to operate intensive-care units, operating rooms, ventilators, refrigeration for medicines and other vital equipment.
Medical workers have warned that further fuel shortages could force hospitals to reduce or suspend essential services, potentially putting the lives of critically ill patients at immediate risk.
The worsening situation comes as Gaza continues to face severe humanitarian conditions, with medical facilities already operating under intense pressure after prolonged conflict and damage to health infrastructure.
