Gaza’s Health Ministry said hospitals recorded nine deaths and 31 injuries over the 24 hours preceding its latest update on Sept. 30, bringing the reported death toll since October 2023 to 74,032.

The ministry said eight of the people who died had been killed during the latest period, while one person succumbed to earlier wounds. The figures were published amid continued reports of casualties and severe humanitarian conditions across the territory.

Cumulative casualty figures

The ministry’s update put the total number of injured since the start of the war at 175,142. These are cumulative figures compiled from reports received by Gaza hospitals and health authorities.

The ministry also reported that since the ceasefire began in October 2025, 1,431 people had been killed and 5,026 injured. It said emergency teams had recovered 834 bodies during that period.

The latest daily count and the larger cumulative totals describe different timeframes. The nine deaths refer to the 24 hours covered by the update; the 74,032 figure covers the period since October 2023.

The statistics provide a new snapshot of the human cost of the conflict, while the ongoing arrival of injured people at hospitals continues to place pressure on Gaza’s already strained medical system.
