Leaked US–Iran Draft Outlines Ceasefire and Path to Full Agreement

Bloomberg has reported details of a leaked draft memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran outlining a potential framework to formally end hostilities and move toward a comprehensive agreement.

According to the draft, both sides and their allies would declare an immediate ceasefire, avoid hostile actions, and enter negotiations aimed at reaching a final settlement within 60 days, with the option of extension.

The document reportedly calls for the lifting of the US naval blockade on Iran and sets out a phased withdrawal of US forces within 30 days after a final agreement is reached, along with a timeline for easing sanctions.

It also proposes exemptions for Iranian oil exports and banking services from sanctions, alongside the release of frozen Iranian assets. In return, Iran would commit to never developing nuclear weapons.

During negotiations, both sides would maintain current positions while leaving sensitive issues such as enriched nuclear material to be addressed in the final phase of talks.
