Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has filed a lawsuit against Netflix, accusing the streaming company of illegally collecting and using consumer data without proper consent. The lawsuit, claims Netflix engaged in invasive tracking practices that violated Texas consumer protection laws.

According to the complaint, Texas authorities allege that Netflix gathered detailed user information and monitored viewing behaviour in ways consumers were not fully aware of. The lawsuit argues that the company profited from personal data while failing to provide transparent disclosure about how information was collected and used.

Netflix denied the allegations and said it would defend itself against the claims in court. The company stated that its data practices comply with existing privacy laws and are designed to improve user experience and platform recommendations.

The case adds to growing scrutiny of major technology and streaming companies over privacy concerns, targeted advertising, and the handling of personal consumer information in the United States.
