Syria and Jordan have agreed to strengthen bilateral cooperation across multiple sectors following high-level talks held in Amman, Jordan, on 12 April 2026, according to Syria’s state news agency SANA.
The discussions took place during the second session of the Syrian-Jordanian Higher Coordination Council, where officials from both countries explored ways to expand collaboration in areas including transport, energy, trade, and civil aviation.
Officials emphasised the importance of enhancing economic ties and facilitating cross-border coordination, particularly as both countries seek to improve regional stability and economic recovery. Agreements and memorandums of understanding were discussed as part of efforts to deepen long-standing relations between Damascus and Amman.
The meeting reflects a broader push by both governments to revive cooperation after years of regional tensions and disruptions linked to the Syrian conflict. Further sessions of the coordination council are expected as part of ongoing diplomatic engagement.
