Families fled Aleppo’s Sheikh Maqsoud and Al‑Ashrafiyah districts this morning as authorities began evacuating civilians from areas expected to see heavy clashes between the Syrian Army and Kurdish-led forces. Thousands of residents left their homes carrying only the most essential belongings, helped by Syrian government soldiers who loaded household items onto trucks and buses. Civil defence teams and local volunteers used cars and minibuses to ferry families away from frontline streets, while regular bus routes were suspended and repurposed to move evacuees toward safer neighborhoods.
Earlier on Tuesday, attacks attributed to the SDF on residential neighborhoods near Ashrafiyah and Sheikh Maqsoud killed three civilians, including two women, and wounded 15 others, among them two children, intensifying the rush to escape.
According to local sources, SDF units also targeted Al‑Zuhur Street in an apparent attempt to block civilians from leaving SDF‑controlled neighborhoods, despite it being announced as one of two humanitarian corridors for safe exit.
