Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon killed at least 12 people and wounded dozens in a series of attacks that struck both militant and civilian areas, officials said.

Lebanon’s Health Ministry reported that 10 people died and 24 were wounded in strikes in the eastern Bekaa Valley, where damage was visible to residential buildings and emergency crews searched rubble for survivors. Israel said it had targeted Hezbollah command centres in the area, though the group did not immediately confirm details.

Earlier on the same day, Lebanese state media said an Israeli drone strike hit the Ain al-Hilweh Palestinian refugee camp near Sidon, killing at least one person and wounding others. The Israeli army said it targeted what it described as a Hamas command centre at the site, a claim disputed by Palestinian factions who said the location was used for civilian aid distribution.

The strikes come amid a wider pattern of military actions in Lebanon since a ceasefire agreement with Hezbollah in 2024, and tensions remain high between Israeli forces and armed groups in the region. Lebanese authorities and rights groups have called for restraint and warned that continued air operations risk drawing the country deeper into broader regional conflict.
