Israel Focused on Air Defence Targets in Recent Iran Strikes: Report

Israeli media reports say Israel’s recent strikes on Iran were primarily aimed at preventing Tehran from rebuilding its air defence infrastructure.

According to an Israeli military source cited by Maariv newspaper, ballistic missile launch sites were not targeted because such operations would have required different military preparations. The source said the main objective was to demonstrate Israel’s determination to limit Iran’s air defence capabilities.

The official also downplayed Iran’s recent missile response, claiming Tehran launched around 20 missiles in 10 separate barrages after roughly 50 days of military recovery, describing the scale of the attacks as relatively limited.
