Iran has put forward a 14-point proposal aimed at ending the ongoing war, outlining a roadmap that includes an immediate ceasefire, humanitarian access, and a broader regional de-escalation framework. The plan, reported on May 3, 2026, comes as fighting continues to destabilise the Middle East.

Key elements of the proposal include a permanent ceasefire in Gaza, the release of detainees, and the opening of humanitarian corridors. It also calls for international guarantees to prevent further escalation and for renewed diplomatic efforts toward a long-term political solution.

The proposal has been directed in part toward the United States, with questions over whether President Donald Trump would support such a framework. Analysts say the plan reflects Iran’s attempt to position itself as a diplomatic actor while maintaining influence in the region.

However, scepticism remains high, with critics questioning whether the proposal can gain traction amid deep mistrust between the parties and ongoing military operations. The chances of acceptance remain uncertain as tensions continue.
