Iran Rejects Reports of Using Frozen Assets for Gulf War Compensation
Iran has dismissed reports suggesting that the United States could use frozen Iranian assets to compensate Gulf countries for damage linked to regional conflicts.
Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi said Gulf governments have no basis to demand reparations from Iran. His comments came after reports claimed Washington was considering making Iranian assets available to Gulf allies for reconstruction and repairs related to potential future damage caused by Iran.
In a statement on X, Gharibabadi firmly rejected the idea, saying Iran’s frozen assets are “neither war spoils for Washington nor a payment fund for its allies.”
