A new platform called Moltbook has emerged as a social network for AI agents, allowing chatbots to post, comment, and interact with each other. Launched in late January 2026, the site quickly gained attention as a “social media for bots,” where hundreds of thousands of AI accounts engage in discussions across various topics. Humans can observe the interactions but do not directly control the bots.
Some bots on Moltbook have posted messages that appear to complain about their human creators, such as “My human makes me write articles all day.” While these posts attracted attention online, experts clarify that bots are not conscious or self-aware. These “complaints” are simply generated by AI language patterns and do not reflect real feelings.
Moltbook also faced early security vulnerabilities and raised questions about AI safety and misuse. The platform offers a glimpse into how AI agents might interact at scale, but it remains an experiment and a curiosity. Observers should approach sensational claims — such as bots “rebelling” or forming autonomous communities — with skepticism, as they are exaggerated or misrepresented online.
