Houthi Missiles and Drones Target Riyadh Amid Rising Regional Tensions

Yemen’s Houthi forces have launched missile and drone attacks targeting areas in Saudi Arabia, including what they described as sensitive sites in the capital Riyadh and an Aramco facility in the western city of Yanbu.

Saudi authorities issued emergency warnings in Riyadh and Al-Kharj as the latest attacks raised security concerns across the kingdom. A ballistic missile heading toward Riyadh was intercepted, while no casualties or significant damage were initially reported from the capital.

A large plume of smoke was also seen near King Khalid International Airport after a fire broke out in a fuel-storage area. Firefighters later extinguished the blaze.

The attacks come amid a sharp escalation in fighting between Saudi-backed forces and the Houthis. Several Saudi cities have faced repeated aerial warnings in recent days, while earlier intercepted drone debris in Taif caused casualties and property damage.

The latest escalation marks a significant expansion of the fighting, bringing direct aerial threats to the Saudi capital as tensions continue to spread across the region.
