At least 254 people were killed and more than 1,200 injured after Israeli airstrikes struck multiple areas across Lebanon on April 8, 2026, in one of the deadliest attacks of the conflict.

Lebanese officials said more than 100 airstrikes were carried out in a rapid wave lasting around 10 minutes, hitting areas including Beirut, southern Lebanon and the Bekaa Valley. Buildings were destroyed, and emergency services rushed to reach those trapped under rubble.

Hospitals across the country were overwhelmed as casualties continued to arrive throughout the day, with rescue operations ongoing. The scale of the strikes and the high casualty toll marked a significant escalation, raising concerns over the growing humanitarian impact.
