The World Health Organization says it has recorded 13 attacks on healthcare facilities in Iran since the start of the recent escalation in the conflict.

According to the WHO, hospitals, clinics and other medical infrastructure were damaged during strikes carried out as fighting intensified across several areas. Health officials warned that attacks on healthcare systems can severely affect access to medical treatment for civilians, particularly during wartime when hospitals are already under pressure.

The WHO said protecting medical facilities and healthcare workers is essential under international humanitarian law and called for all parties to avoid targeting health infrastructure. The reported incidents come as the wider conflict continues to expand, raising growing concerns among international organizations about the humanitarian impact of the fighting.
