Britain is preparing an aircraft carrier for possible deployment to the Middle East as tensions continue to escalate during the widening conflict involving Iran.

Defence officials said the Royal Navy’s carrier strike group, led by HMS Prince of Wales, is being readied for potential operations if the security situation deteriorates further. The move comes as Western governments increase military preparedness amid fears that the war could spread across the region.

The carrier strike group includes advanced fighter jets, escort warships and support vessels, allowing it to conduct air operations, maritime patrols and defensive missions. Officials said the preparations are part of contingency planning and do not necessarily mean the carrier will be immediately deployed.

Britain has already increased its military presence in the region alongside allies as attacks and retaliatory strikes continue across several Middle Eastern countries. Defence analysts say deploying a carrier strike group would represent one of the most significant British military responses to the escalating crisis so far.
