Israel has removed Spain from a key Gaza coordination mechanism, citing what it described as Madrid’s “hostile” position toward Israeli military actions, according to officials familiar with the decision.

The coordination framework facilitates communication between Israel and international partners regarding humanitarian aid and logistical access into Gaza. Spain’s exclusion follows a series of sharp criticisms by Spanish officials over Israel’s conduct in the ongoing conflict.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office indicated the move was a direct response to Spain’s stance, which it claims undermines cooperation during a sensitive phase of the war. Spain has been among the most vocal European critics of Israel’s operations in Gaza in recent months.

Madrid has not immediately responded to the decision. The development highlights growing divisions between Israel and parts of Europe as the conflict continues and diplomatic tensions escalate.
